Some wedding days ease into the celebration. Monica and Adam's showed up at full volume. On August 29, 2026, the late-summer heat settled over The Gray Dove in Ooltewah like it had its own invitation. It was hot - genuinely, aggressively hot - but almost no one slowed down. Monica and Adam had built a day around the people they love, and their people came ready to celebrate.
Before the wedding, Monica and Adam told us that two things mattered most: the first looks with their parents and candid photographs of themselves with their guests. That became the heartbeat of the day. Between the planned portraits, we watched for the quick glances, deep breaths, ridiculous jokes, tight hugs and loud reactions that made the celebration completely theirs.

Monica's morning began inside The Gray Dove's bridal suite, where Caitlyn and Shawna of Pixie Rose Collective worked on hair while Holly finished makeup. The room stayed busy with matching pajamas, iced drinks, mirrors, curling irons and the kind of laughter that makes the hours before a ceremony move much faster than expected.
Once everyone stepped outside, Monica and her bridesmaids marked the moment with a champagne spray beside the venue's black farm fence. It was equal parts polished and chaotic, which is usually where the best photographs live.

Every part of Monica and Adam’s wedding carried a little piece of their personality. The deep emerald of Adam’s suit, the shades of green worn by the wedding party, Monica’s intricate lace and flowing veil, and the warm mixture of cream, blush, and rich berry tones in the flowers all worked beautifully against the natural setting of The Gray Dove.
The rustic three-tier cake from Sweet Pea’s Bakeshop fit the day perfectly, while choices like incredible pizza, an ice cream truck, and an open bar made the celebration feel welcoming, relaxed, and genuinely fun. Nothing felt overly fussy or added simply because tradition said it should be there. The details were stylish, meaningful, and completely true to Monica and Adam—which is exactly how a wedding should feel.

Monica’s wedding dress from All About the Bride was the perfect blend of timeless romance and modern confidence. The delicate lace, off-the-shoulder neckline, fitted silhouette, and sweeping veil looked absolutely incredible on her—but more importantly, the entire look felt unmistakably Monica.
Paired with her auburn hair, beautiful tattoos, and fearless personality, the gown gave her that perfect mix of elegance and edge. Whether she was sitting on the vintage floral sofa, walking beneath the trees, or letting her veil catch the summer breeze, Monica didn’t simply wear the dress—she owned every inch of it.

Every bride deserves a group of women who can keep her calm, make her laugh, fix whatever needs fixing, and spray champagne like they’ve trained for it their entire lives. Monica’s bridesmaids understood the assignment.
Their mix of sage, teal, and deep-green dresses complemented the natural setting at The Gray Dove beautifully, but the real magic came from their personalities. They brought encouragement, laughter, a little chaos, and nonstop energy from the getting-ready room through the very last song of the night. Even with the Tennessee heat working overtime, these ladies showed up ready to celebrate Monica—and they made sure she felt surrounded by love every step of the way.

The Guys Who Would bring the party
Across the property, Adam and the guys had one of the coolest groom's spaces we have photographed. What was once an old auto shop has been transformed into a lounge with a huge television, rustic furniture, a bar, video games, a pool table and plenty of room for the entire crew. The moody window light was a perfect match for Adam's deep emerald-green suit from Jos. A. Bank.
The groomsmen gave us a few composed portraits before the situation unraveled in the best possible way. They carried Adam across the venue entrance, committed to the joke and established early that this would not be a quiet reception crowd.

The first looks with family brought the day back to what mattered. Adam shared that pause with his mom, and Monica met her dad near the old tree swing. There was no need for a complicated setup. The emotion was already there in the waiting, the turn, the first smile and the hug that followed.

The moment she tapped him on the shoulder, every bit of nervous anticipation disappeared. His reaction was pure joy—one huge smile, a few happy tears, and the unmistakable look of a man seeing his bride for the very first time. What followed wasn’t stiff or overly posed; it was perfectly them. They laughed, held each other close, shared a kiss, and completely forgot about everyone watching from a distance.
Afterward, they wandered beneath the trees, spent a little time near the old wooden swing, and soaked in some of the only quiet minutes the day would give them. Even on one of the hottest days of the summer, these two never stopped smiling—and honestly, neither did we.

At five o'clock, guests gathered for an unplugged outdoor ceremony beneath one of The Gray Dove's enormous old trees. Willow branches moved behind the wedding party while warm coral, rust and cream flowers brought color to the greens surrounding them. Monica's lace gown from All About the Bride and Adam's emerald suit looked completely at home in the setting.
The fans were working overtime, but the ceremony itself never felt hurried. With Heather Blankenship officiating, Monica and Adam stood hand in hand, exchanged their vows and sealed the whole thing with a kiss as their closest people looked on.
That huge tree did more than provide a backdrop. It gave the ceremony a sense of permanence - two people beginning a marriage beneath something that had already weathered countless seasons.

These weren’t simply people chosen to wear matching colors and stand beside the couple. They were the friends and family who kept the nerves under control, the laughter coming, and the celebration moving. One minute they were perfectly posed beneath the trees; the next they were spraying champagne, carrying Adam down the road, or turning a serious photograph into complete chaos.
They knew when to be sentimental, when to be supportive, and—most importantly—when it was time to stop being the wedding party and become the wedding party-ers.
Polished when necessary, chaotic whenever possible—these wedding party-ers brought the style, the support, and the nonstop energy.

Once the family portraits were finished and the wedding party had completed their professional obligation to create absolute chaos, everything became quiet again. No crowd, no aisle, and no one else needing their attention—just Monica and Adam enjoying their first few moments together as husband and wife.

Friends and family mingled beneath the trees, caught up with people they hadn’t seen in far too long, and settled comfortably into the party atmosphere Monica and Adam had created.
Before everyone moved inside for the reception, the entire group gathered beneath the balcony for one massive photograph. First came the smiling, respectable version—and then came the photograph that showed everyone’s real personality. Arms went up, faces got wild, and any remaining formality officially disappeared.

Pizza, Salad & a Little Whipped-Cream Chaos
Formal dinners are lovely, but Monica and Adam knew the fastest way to keep a crowd happy was with seriously good food. Baby Hughy’s delivered with table after table of fresh pizza and salad—and judging by the nearly empty boxes, the guests understood the assignment.
The pizza was good enough for the newlyweds to proudly pose with it, but then the meal took a slightly less dignified turn. At some point, a can of whipped cream entered the situation, Adam leaned his head back, and all remaining dinner-table etiquette officially disappeared. No plate. No spoon. No regrets.
It was delicious, relaxed, a little chaotic, and completely in step with the rest of the celebration. Honestly, if your wedding dinner doesn’t end with someone receiving whipped cream directly from the can, did you even party?

Earlier in the day, Adam and his groomsmen looked polished, sophisticated, and almost completely respectable in their suits. But as the night progressed, the jackets disappeared, the energy increased, and whatever self-control they arrived with quietly left the building.
Somewhere between cutting the cake and taking over the dance floor, the guys changed into matching tuxedo tank tops—formalwear’s much less responsible cousin. What followed included aggressive flexing, dramatic poses, questionable choreography, and the kind of confidence normally reserved for a boy band reunion tour.
They may have started the day as distinguished gentlemen, but by the end of the night, they had fully evolved into the wedding party-ers they were always meant to be.

Let Them Eat Cake—Politely, Apparently

When it came time to cut the cake, the crowd gathered close and prepared for the time-honored wedding tradition of wondering which newlywed would betray the other first. Monica and Adam lifted their forks, everyone held their breath…and they calmly fed each other like two mature, respectful adults.
No frosting to the face. No cake in Adam’s beard. Not even a tiny retaliatory smear. Honestly, we were proud of them—but also just a little disappointed. 😂

As the night moved forward, the wild energy gradually began to soften. The crowd grew smaller, the lights felt warmer, and conversations became quieter as the final songs approached.
But in the middle of it all were two people who no longer seemed to notice anyone else was still there. Monica and Adam held each other close, swayed beneath the lights, and disappeared into a moment that belonged only to them. After spending the entire day surrounded by people, schedules, celebrations, and noise, the evening ended exactly where their marriage began—just the two of them.
