At Matt & Shea Photography, our newborn sessions are created to honor this season with care, intention, and an elevated experience you can trust.
Our studio is a clean, calm, and fully insured environment, thoughtfully prepared for newborn portraiture. Matt and Shea have completed specialized newborn safety training, ensuring your baby is always supported, comfortable, and secure throughout the session. Every movement, pose, and transition is gentle and baby-led because nothing matters more than your child’s well-being.
Newborn sessions are unhurried and peaceful, allowing time for feedings, soothing, and cuddles whenever needed. Parents are invited to relax, breathe, and simply enjoy the experience while we care for the details. Soft light, refined styling, and classic compositions come together to create timeless portraits that feel as beautiful as this moment truly is.
These early days pass quickly, but your memories shouldn’t. Our goal is to provide more than photographs we offer reassurance, expertise, and heirloom images that allow you to remember just how small, loved, and perfect your baby was at the beginning.

Newborn studio Session Options
Tiny Kisses Experience
The Tiny Kisses Experience takes your little one and wraps them up nice and snuggley keeping them completely happy and extremely easy to work with and maneuver into various swaddled poses. The session usually takes around an hour. During the session, your baby will be wrapped. This session gives you 10-20 images to choose from when making your selections. This session does not include naked baby or family portraits.

little wonders experience
The Little Wonders Newborn Experience at Matt & Shea Photography begins with a classic newborn wrap and blanket arrangement, after which Shea begins her artistry. She will craft two to three scenes that reflect your vision for the session. This experience includes both wrapped and naked poses, furniture props for capturing adorable images, and concludes with a family portrait celebrating your new addition. This session gives you 20-30 images to choose from when making your selections. (This session includes one family portrait.)
Here is what is included in this collective experience:
up to a 2-hour session that takes place in our dedicated newborn studio with various scenes created by Shea. Then we move over to the big studio for your first family portrait. (this session does not include family breakouts.)

First cuddles experience
Our Newborn Signature Session provides a longer experience in our studio for your baby. This timeframe allows for feeding and different setups, including sibling and parent photos and wrapped and naked shots. This ensures we capture beautiful, memorable images of your little one by themselves, in a beautiful family portrait and with siblings loving on them. This session gives you 30-40 images to choose from when making your selections.

up to a 3-hour session that takes place in our dedicated newborn studio with various scenes created by Shea.

Introducing our “Home is Where the Heart is Experience!” This special experience brings the magic of photography right to your doorstep, allowing your little one to be photographed in the comfort of their own space. Imagine cozy, candid moments that reflect your family’s love and connection while you enjoy your home's familiarity. This session gives you 30-40 images to choose from when making your selections.
Here is what is included in this collective experience:
90-minute session that takes place in the comfort of your own home
a small mobile array of wraps and bows to help accent your home’s aesthetic.
15 high-resolution digital images of your choice (with the option to purchase more)

Ideal Timing:
Newborn sessions are best scheduled within the first 5–14 days after birth, when babies are sleepiest and most comfortable for gentle posing.A Calm, Clean Studio Environment:
Our studio is professionally cleaned and sanitized between every session. We maintain a quiet, warm, and soothing environment designed specifically for newborn comfort and safety.Safety First—Always:
Matt & Shea Photography is fully insured, and both photographers have completed specialized newborn safety training. Every pose is carefully supported, never forced, and always baby-led.Slow-Paced & Baby-Led:
Sessions are intentionally unhurried. We allow time for feeding, diaper changes, soothing, and cuddles as needed. Your baby sets the pace—we follow.Props, Styling & Simplicity:
We provide professional newborn props, wraps, and neutral styling to create timeless images that won’t date over time. Clean textures and soft tones keep the focus on your baby.Sibling & Parent Involvement:
Sibling and family portraits are welcome. We recommend bringing a small snack or comfort item for older children to help the session flow smoothly.What to Bring:
Please bring extra diapers, wipes, and a pacifier (even if baby doesn’t usually use one—it helps with soothing during transitions).Your Role as Parents:
