Smash Cake Sessions
So it's your baby's First Birthday? Where did that year go? Sleepless nights, coo's and giggles, Rolling over-sitting-crawling-walking, driving you nuts, then making your heart burst with happiness. It's been an entire year since you labored to bring this sweet baby into the world and you are both still alive and well! This is a huge milestone for you both! So celebrate in a way that will preserve them this way FOREVER! Celebrate their first year birthday by smashing some cake! It could be great or it could be “interesting”. They are officially toddlers at this point and beginning to show some serious personality! So whether they cry because you just smashed their hand into the cake, or start throwing cake at the photographer, this is a session that will be looked back on for a very long time.
Session Info
Smash Cake Sessions are scheduled for one hour for our signature session and 30 minutes for our simplicity session. Signature sessions produce around 30-40 images to create your collections with while simplicity sessions produce 15-20 images. Both session options take place at our studio to ensure a clean environment for your little one to enjoy their cake. Signature sessions offers 2-3 outfit changes with the last one being the outfit for the Smash Cake while simplicity sessions offer one outfit, being the smash cake outfit. Please bring a towel, plastic bag and wipes for your baby’s clean up. You take care of the baby and we will take care of everything else.

If you are looking for a cake smash and that is it, this is the option for you. Bring the baby and the cake and let us create a custom scene for your little one to destroy their cake on while Matt & Shea capture every single moment. Here is what is included with the Smash Cake Simplicity Session:
30-minute studio session that will take place in our custom-designed 1500-square-foot studio
A pre-session phone consult with us to discuss what theme you are wanting to create for the smash cake session and what outfit for them to wear.
Access to our large collection of props and furniture to add to your birthday boy/girl scene.
Each session produces a social sample to be posted on our Instagram, Facebook, or other social media platforms. Feel free to share this image on your page and make sure to tag us;)
The session produces around 15-20 images that will be edited with blemish removal, skin softening, and color correction to ensure that your images look perfect
You also get an Ordering and Viewing Consult in our studio’s viewing room about a week later to look at your images and make your selections. Pricing is a la cart and prints start at $15 while additional digitals start at $50
Your deposit of $75 will be credited back toward print credit at your ordering session

If you're seeking more than just a cake smash photo, consider our signature session. This one-hour session includes outfit changes and family photos. Begin with showcasing your little one in cute outfits, then move on to a quick family portrait if you desire and finally end the session with a messy cake experience. Here is what is included with the smash cake signature session:
1-hour studio session that will take place in our custom-designed 1500-square-foot studio

****Due to various allergies and other legalities, Matt & Shea Photography does not provide the cake. You are responsible for bringing the cake and/or any other edible items that you want to showcase during the session.
your deposit reserves your time at the studio and is non-refundable. Digital images are available for purchase at the ordering session but are not included with the session deposit.
Book a Smash Cake Session
Book your Smash Cake Session below by selecting what session you would like to purcahse and paying the deposit for that session. During the check out process it will give you a form to choose your top three dates for the session to take place on, please fill that out and we will be in contact within 24 hours to confirm your date and time. Your session deposit will be returned to you in print credit at your ordering session.
Viewing and Ordering
A week after your session we will meet back at the studio for our creation and selection session. This is where it all comes together! You’ll come into the studio to view your images and make your final selections. View your images on an 8 ft projector and relax in our custom selection room with samples of all the different products that we offer. There we will create amazing pieces of artwork featuring your photos. Before your Creation and Selection Session we ask that you send me a picture of a wall or walls that you would like to have artwork hung up on, with that picture we will design an amazing wall display to create the perfect look for your home. Use my 20 years of experience to help decorate and get what you truly want out of your session. I want you to leave the studio with excitement and confidence about the products you have selected.
