Hey guys, I’m Matt, the proud owner of Matt & Shea Photography located in Hixson:) Shea and I have combined our experience as professional photographers for over 20 wonderful years now. These classes will be tailored for various skill levels and will cover a wide range of topics related to the exciting world of photography. Here are some of the courses and dates we will be offering in the coming months.

January 18th @9:00am- Photography 101

This engaging and informative class will thoroughly cover the essential basics of photography, guiding you step by step in getting your camera off of automatic settings and seamlessly transitioning into manual mode. You'll better understand why and how your camera captures images, which will empower you to create the specific desired look you envision for your stunning portraits. Additionally, you will learn various valuable basic techniques for adjusting white balance, effectively reading histograms, and establishing a solid foundation in the critical concepts of ISO, aperture, and shutter speed, all of which are necessary for taking your photography skills to the next level.

Here is what you will learn in this class:

• Turning your camera from Auto to Manual

• Understanding the Aperture and the different effects of different settings

• Learn how shutter speed can create the image effect you desire

• Learn the dos and donts of ISO and how to capture without grainy images successfully

• Learn the benefits of both autofocus and manual focus and what they each have to offer your work

• Learn about white balance and how it affects your image capture and post on the computer

• Learn how to use and read a histogram to ensure your images are exposed correctly

February 1st @10:00am- Lighting workshop

In this exciting and hands-on workshop, we will photograph a lovely model in various dynamic and captivating settings while skillfully utilizing an off-camera flash as the main light source or fill light. Our primary goal is to achieve the perfect exposure to showcase your stunning images while bringing to life the specific desired look you are eager and excited to capture. We will creatively harness the power of indoor and outdoor off-camera flash, ensuring that we create jaw-dropping images that your clients will absolutely LOVE and cherish! You'll have the incredible opportunity to learn about different lighting setups and schemes specifically designed to create the perfect effect that will genuinely blow your clients' minds and elevate your photography skills to exciting new heights!

Here is what you will learn at our OFC(Off Camera Flash) Workshop:

• Learn different lighting recipes to create different effects for your images

• Learn different styles of lighting such as Butterfly, Rembrandt, short side, and broadside lighting

• Learn how to control the power of your light to create the perfect exposure for your settings

• Learn how to bounce lights in difficult situations in order to continue capturing well-exposed images

• Learn how to use multiple lights to create additional depth and creative accents for your images

• Learn both indoor light techniques and outdoor light techniques
